Shows outside Accra don’t improve sales — Sarkodie

Sarkodie Sarkodie

Award winning artist Michael Owusu Addo popularly known in showbiz as Sarkodie has disclosed that headlining events outside Accra don’t pay as compared to shows held in the capital.

In an interview on Pluzz FM he stated that although he sometimes wish to host events outside Accra, there are no venues in such places to make his money back compared to that of Accra, adding that “even if there is a venue, the number of people you look forward to see don’t show up.”

Sarkodie also noted that because venues become a problem, events promoters find it difficult to pay artists when they charge.

According to him, sponsorship from major companies like MTN, Tigo and others can help events promoters make their money in order to pay artists and also make up the money they lost.

“I would love to do the regional thing by playing shows all over because there are certain places I miss going but venues become a problem”.
