Hiplife musician Mzbel has detailed why she is organising “JM Toaso” concert on Saturday, November 5 at the Bukom Square in Accra.

The musician who is on a radio and television tour to promote the concert has told Christian Agyei Frimpong on Onua FM in Accra that the show is not only to campaign for president Mahama ahead of the 2016 polls. She disclosed that the event is also to request a radio and television stations from the president should he win this year’s general election.

The musician who recently released “Mmo” song featuring Paa Kwasi of Dobble said the TV and radio stations she is asking from the first gentleman of the land are to play only Ghanaian songs.

According to her, these two media outlets she is requesting from the president are to help Ghanaian musicians gain airplay but not to compete with foreign products. Mzbel added that she cannot request something from the president without working for him so the “JM Toaso” concert is organised to make an appeal to the president.

“This concert is to campaign for the president to win this year’s election. I also have a request for him and I know you are going to ask what it is. I just want the president to establish a TV and radio stations, which will play only Ghanaian songs. I know if this show comes off successfully and he wins the election, he will establish the two platforms for us.

I can’t go to the palace with empty hand and request something from the leaders. At least I can tell him that I did this with my colleague musicians to campaign for him so he will gladly buy into the idea. Radio and TV is not a big deal that he cannot provide.” Mzbel said.

Entertainers expected to be at the concert on Saturday, November 5 are John Dumelo, Mr. Beautiful, Koo Fori, Tracey Boakye, Kalsoume Sinare, Adane Best, Nii Funny, Bukom Banku, Shilo, Danny Beat and many others.
