Entertainment critic 'attacked' for talking against NDC campaign

Amandzeba Phiiphi Smmyth, an entertainment critic on Luv FM, a Kumasi based radio station, in a facebook post has stated that he was attacked by three armed men last Saturday for speaking against Tracey Boakye, a Kumawood actress and the ruling party, NDC.

He explained, the men barred him from commenting on any entertainment related issue concerning Tracey Boakye, the Kumawood actress who shot the self-financed campaign advert for President Mahama and the NDC government.

“I am totally devastated to the extent that on last Saturday after the private party on Luv FM, on my way home I was attacked by three armed men, who categorically told me to desist from speaking on issues bothering the ruling national Democratic Congress (NDC) and Tracey, the lady who shot an own paid add for the NDC”, his post reads.

Not only was he barred from commenting on NDC related issues, he further explained that they threatened to take away his life if he pays a deaf ear to their warning.

“These guys in question pointed a pistol at me, … that any time they hear me on radio or TV trying to speak about the NDC, they will take my life”.

He has since reported the case to the Police for investigations.

Amandzeba Phiiphi Smmyth was one of the four panelists on the Entertainment show hosted by Austine Woode on Luv FM on July 30, 2016.

One of the topics that came up for discussion was the campaign video shot by two Kumawood actresses Tracey Boakye and Gloria Kani for the NDC.

“Good day fellows, are we leaving in a country where the citizenry can speak their minds without any fear or favour??? I have made an official police report on it n am daring them to come after me for speaking the truth.

Am asking if its not true that we are going through, Dumsor, higher utility tarrifs, unemployment, businesses collapsing, collapse of the NHIS, amidst mass corruption, higher inflation rate, n insult all over our airwaves????, so why is it that if am preaching the truth some chicken bravados n tomfoolery’s with the ruling government will have to send thugs to come after me????.”
