Known for her talent in music, crowned winner of Mr/Miss Accra Psychiatric, Miss Elinam Agbenu has called on the general public to desist from labelling most patients at the Psychiatric hospitals as unfit to mingle with society.

Speaking with kasapafmonline.com, she disclosed that the unseen talents in ‘mentally’ deranged patients should be discovered and nurtured to make them feel part of the society and not neglected.

The up and coming artiste revealed that her talent in singing got her to be part of the Accra Psychiatric pageant.

“I’m a talented lady and adventurous. As part of exhibiting my talent, I took part in the Accra Psychiatric Pageant since I saw it as an opportunity to explore.

“Though I came out as the best of the day and hence was crowned Miss Accra Psychiatric, it was actually a singing exhibition of my talent as a musician.

“Perhaps not all people admitted at the Psychiatric hospital are mentally deranged.

“I’m really excited for the opportunity and would be grateful to anyone who wants to promote me (Elinam) to come out with my mission of singing as a major talent.”

The maiden edition of Mr & Miss Accra Psychiatric pageant was to enlighten the public on the need to treasure the mentally challenged persons.
