Former member of Dobble speaks after group split

There have been different speculations with respect to what led to the breakup of music duo Dobble.

Some believe the decision by Enwai and Paa Kwesi to go their separate ways was influenced by a fight over money, a lady or supremacy.

But Paa Kwesi in an interview with Dr. Pounds on Hitz Gallery debunked these speculations saying, it was a decision reached at a consensus.

According to him, what causes a breakup goes beyond money and women.

“We have never had issues with money or women. It’s a mutual understanding. It was like ‘my spirit and interest is no more, I want to do something different,” he said.

Asked whose idea it was for them to breakup, Paa Kwesi said it was Enwae’s.

“He [Enwai] opted for it and I supported the decision so it was a mutual understanding; nothing too serious. It’s not like people are thinking. But one thing people don’t get to realise is there are more to whatever relationship than you thinking it is women or money. Why ain’t you thinking about commitment, your interest, and time? A whole lot…” he noted.

Until it became a defunct group, Dobble produced hit tracks including Spark Ma Motor, Eeema Na, Christy and Walai Talai.

Both have released singles after their split. Paa Kwesi has ‘Me Bobre’ and ‘Nnipa Dasani’ while Enwai has ‘I Do Yawa’ and ‘Obe Taazin’.
