Ghanaian actress and singer, Diamond Appiah has blasted voodoo priest, Okmofo Yaw Appiah, over his claim that the police prevented him from attending a highly-publicised spiritual duel with Bishop Daniel Obinim.

Okomfo Yaw had told the media on Tuesday that the Suame police in Kumasi held him under house arrest, making it impossible for him to confront Obinim in the spiritual duel.

In a Facebook post, however, Diamond rejected his explanation, noting that if he was indeed a powerful voodoo priest, he would have found a way to evade the police using his spiritual powers.

She also condemned Okomfo Appiah’s accusation that Obinim bribed the police to prevent him from attending the duel.

The duel was arranged after Okomfo Yaw claimed to be the source of Bishop Obinim’s spiritual powers and vowed to strip the pastor of the powers.

In response, Obinim challenged the voodoo priest to the spiritual duel at the Jubilee Park, which was supposed to see both men take turns to sleep in a coffin for thirty minutes.

Obinim arrived at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi with a coffin for the confrontation, but after several hours of waiting without Okofo Yaw showing up, he left, with his jubilant supporters claiming victory.
