Amakye Dede appeals to celebrities to support orphans

Highlife legend Daniel Amakye Dede has charged celebrities in the country to use part of their resources to support orphans.

He lamented the difficulties being faced by orphans, stressing the need for celebrities and well-to-do personalities in the society to contribute to making life better for orphans.

The music legend was speaking when he presented an assortment of items, including a Samsung television set, a decoder dish, 20 orthopaedic mattresses and 20 metal beds to the Asante Mampong Babies Home, worth GH¢ 30,000.

Bags of rice, sugar, gallons of oil, assortment of fruit juices, biscuits, toiletries, mosquito insecticide sprays, boxes of instant noodles, bottled water, soap, among other precious items, were also presented.

. Amakye Dede, who made the presentation on Friday, stated that his gesture was geared towards bringing smiles onto the faces of the orphans during the Valentine season.

He stated that the presentation was also aimed at making living very comfortable for the children at the home, stressing that “they don’t have parents so we should serve as their fathers and mothers.”

Amakye Dede, who is known for his benevolence, assured that he would not hesitate to donate to the home and other orphanages in the country in the near future, pointing out that he delights in enjoying his blessings with the needy.

Margaret Addae, manageress of the home, on behalf of the children, showered praises on Amakye Dede for his kindness, urging other affluent people in the society to also come and support the home.
