Ghanaians must have the right to smoke marijuana - Reggae musician

Osagyefo Osagyefo

Ghanaian reggae musician Osagyefo has put out statements concerning the legalization of marijuana in Ghana since the herb is highly medicinal and legal in most developed countries.

Osagyefo spoke bitterly about treatment given to people who are caught smoking the herb in Ghana he is of the view that this act is not correct.

Making reference to the boss of Narcotics Control Board Yaw Akrasi Sarpong, Osagyefo said putting people in jail for a puff of marijuana is not proper.

“The fact that Ghana is against marijuana... It can do a lot of things. Sammy people have their right. I am not happy to see people who burn one ‘spliff’ and go to jail you know that is very backward”.

He also stated emphatically that he is not against people who create music to promote the usage of marijuana.

“I don’t tell somebody to smoke but I think those who do it must have the basic right. Not at all Sammy I am not against it” he said.
