In his quest to stage a historic Pan African Historical Theatre Festival (PANAFEST) the PANAFEST Secretariat, Cape Coast has appointed Miss Afua Asantewaa Ofosu, Miss Tourism Ghana 2014 2nd Princess as its ambassador.

The initiative, orchestrated by the Aquinas Quansah, the Central Regional Minister and the Secretariat sought to set rebranding of PANAFEST in motion and to take it a notch higher.

According to the Regional Minister, his outfit has put measures in place to ensure that the event regains its dwindling steam, using this year’s event scheduled for this Saturday to December 9, as springboard for subsequent editions.

The Central Regional Minister said in an interview that “Cape Coast is the home of PANAFEST and we must accord it the reverence and relevance it deserves.

“It is a big event with the potential of bringing in thousands of tourists from across the globe to our beautiful and historic region. It is for this reason that my outfit, the Secretariat and the Tourism Ministry thought it prudent to appoint Afua, our ambassador to augment the works of the Secretariat.”

At the launch of this year’s event in Cape Coast recently, Deputy Executive Secretary, PANAFEST Foundation, Kojo Ampah Sahara indicated that “We are looking at the era that PANAFEST would be discussed in contemporary terms and involve the youth more as well as opinion leaders.”

In her acceptance speech, the beauty queen said she will use her experience to preach the good tidings of PANAFEST at any giving time and on all media platforms.
