The Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi was the centre of attraction last Saturday for both actors, actresses and the general public as the Okyeame Kwame Foundation and MDS Lancet-Laboratories organized a free screening and vaccination exercise.
The program which is being steered by Ghana’s versatile and decent rapper, Okyeame Kwame is an annual one which aims at helping kick hepatitis out of the country.
This year’s took place at Kumasi and saw in attendance some big names in the movie industry who all screened and vaccinated against the disease. They include: Wayoosi, Salinko, Big Akwes and a host of other respected celebrities.
Okyeame Kwame who took turn to address the audience showed appreciation to colleague celebrities for turning in their numbers to screen and vaccinate against the disease.
He urged them to continue to join in the fight against hepatitis since it is a difficult one to engage in alone.
The 7 hour program also provided counseling for people tested positive to hepatitis.
Dr. Paul Sekyere Nyantakyi of MDS Lancet-Laboratories urged them not to panic over their statuses since there are control measures for the disease when contracted. However, prevention is always a better option they urged.
