All is set for this year’s Father’s Day Celebration at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra this Sunday, Ozon Media, organizers of the event has said. Highlife greats Alfred Benjamin(AB) Crentsil and Nana Acheampong of Lumber Brothers fame are expected to give fathers and participants a befitting father’s day treat with some of their popular tunes.

The event, second in the series after a successful maiden edition which saw the organizers awarding Inspector General of Police(IGP) Mohammed Alhassan for his exceptional leadership qualities that has reduced crime rate in the country is a buffet lunch dance.

An interview with the two highlife legends indicated that they are bent on giving the audience their best shots.

Chief Executive of Ozon Media Nana Tweneboa-Koduah pointed out that he was inspired by the biblical “…Children honour your parents’ the Almighty God has asked us to honor our parents so He prolongs our lives and that is the only commandment that comes with a promise, so we are doing the work of God for long life.

“We can all attest to the fact that these days fathers take their children to school by walking or driving them before they go to work”. It is also common in recent times that we see fathers taking their children out to the malls, fast food joints, restaurants, social gatherings etc., and they take good care of their children by providing their needs.”

He revealed that Father’s Day, unlike Mother’s Days are celebrated on low keys, hence his outfit’s quest to celebrate it with the pump and pageantry it deserved.

The theme for this year’s event which will honour dignitaries like former president JJ Rawlings is “A happy Father, A happy Nation”.
