Gospel musician Felicia Darko Asare is ready to outdoor her latest work, ‘Ko Ko Wanim’, after her first two songs did not make much waves and forced her into hibernation.
The singer explained that in 2010 when she released her first song, Yesu Me Do Wo, she was new in the industry and had to do everything on her own because she did not even have a manager or any assistant.
She said music producers were hesitant to work with her and she did not also have the media on her side to help market and promote the song.
According to Felicia, her second appearance was better since she had to probe and get professional advice on the gospel music scene in the country. She said this has helped her to become better at managing the success of her new work.
Mrs Darko stated that her first singles were old Pentecostal songs.
“We have many musicians copying others’ songs which I also tried but unfortunately it didn’t work for me so I asked God to give me my own song that would draw his children closer to him,” she added.
Felicia, who is happily married with triplets, said her desire is to reach Ghanaians all over the world with God’s word, adding that she prays God gives her the strength to serve her purpose with enthusiasm.
She also urged producers and presenters in the media to assist up and coming musicians to be able to serve their purpose.
