E.L, Cwesi Oteng, Others Win Awards

It was all thrills and surprises at the sixth edition of the MTN 4syte Music Video Awards at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) as E.L took home the Best Storyline Music Video of the Year Award with his hit song video, ‘Ayayaa’.

The award-winning Ghanaian rapper and producer, E.L beat the likes of M.anifest, Fuse ODG, Knii Lante, Edem, Sarkodie and Bisa Kdei to grab the award.

So far, he has several hit songs and one thing that makes him outstanding is his music background, which is deeply rooted in live stage performances.

The award-winning artiste has worked with hiplife music giants like Sarkodie, Tinny, VIP and a host of others. A number of artistes have also featured him in most of their songs.

Another enterprising gospel artiste, Cwesi Oteng, also won the Gospel Music Video Awardwith ‘Count Your Blessing’ music video.

Cwesi Oteng, who is on BBnZ music label is a recording and performing artiste, prolific songwriter and inspirational icon with a unique brand, and is celebrated for his uncompromising stance on lyrics, music structure, creative productions, positive influence on the youth and image.

This year’s edition of the MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards was organised by 4Syte TV to reward creativity in the music video industry as well as reward some of the production houses for their contribution to the growth of the industry.

The awards, since it was established some years back, has encouraged several Ghanaian musicians to come out with more quality music videos to promote their works on the market.

When the list of nominations was released some weeks back, it became evident that E.L’s ‘Ayayaa’ music video would grab the award.

It was a night of musical fireworks as some of the artistes took turns to dish out splendid performances that got the audience dancing to show appreciation to their various performances.

During the awards ceremony, the Founder of the Kristo Asafo Church, Great KOSA network of companies, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, was also awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the event.

One of his sons and ex-husband of actress Juliet Ibrahim Safo, Kwadwo Safo Jnr, who picked the award on his father’s behalf, thanked the organisers for the honour.

Edem’s ‘The One’ video picked the Most Outstanding Video, Best Directed Video and Best Photography.

VVIP also won two awards with its ‘Selfie’ video. The group picked the Best Choreography and the Best Group awards.
