Musicians to present Black Stars theme song to Sports Ministry

A team of top musicians will present the official theme song for the Black Stars’ Brazil 2014 World Cup Campaign, to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Stanbic at the Bank’s Head Office on Wednesday June 11, 2014.

Titled ‘Shine-4-Africa’, the song which was produced by Showbiz Africa and MUSIGA, features such music heavyweights as Kojo Antwi, Sarkodie, Noble Nketsiah, Samini and Obour.

Other stars on the songs include Edem, Sherifa Gunu, Efya, Qweci Oteng, Chemphe, Nana Boroo, Skinny Legend and Tic Tac. The song also has a poetic interlude by Nenebi.

It was produced by 3-time VGMA-winning producer of the year, Kaywa; with production support by Oteng.

Prior to this presentation, 100 copies were presented to the Black Stars before they left Ghana to start camping for the world cup.

Skipper Asamoah Gyan who received the CDs on behalf of the players said, “I am very grateful at this gesture, that our friends in music, who I am also part of, have made this great song for us. We will listen to it before every match.”

Stanbic Bank, as part of their support for Ghana’s world Cup Campaign, paid for the technical production of the song, which saw all artistes perform at no charge.
