Blakk Rasta says Snoop Dogg doesn’t deserve a Reggae award

Following the recent news that Snoop Dogg’s reggae album “Reincarnated” has been tipped to win the upcoming GRAMMYS in the category of “Best Reggae Album”, Blakk Rasta seems to have a different opinion about it.

Blakk Rasta has vehemently stated to Ghamaicans that, he found it very horrendous to have Snoop Dogg in that category for the GRAMMYS.

“Yes everybody would say Snoop Dogg has tried and produced good reggae songs but I don’t feel that qualifies him to be in that league of artistes nominated for the GRAMMYS. It surprises me that a rapper who suddenly metamorphosed in a Reggae genre within a year has been voted into that category.”

“I am not disputing the fact that he might have made enormous sales with it but I think somebody would have to explain to me more what criteria was used to put him there. So if all of a sudden Blakk Rasta or Rocky Dawuni, Coco Tea or Black Prophet decides to do pure rap music, will they have a nominated to the Best Rap or HipHop album at the GRAMMYS? No wonder it is an American thing.” Blakk Rasta concluded.

Snoop Dogg has been in the news lately with a lot of controversies especially with his name change from “Snoop Lion” to “SnoopZilla”. Many Rastas say he is “joking with Rastafari and Reggae music.”
