Sarkodie donates to Royal Seed Home

Ghana’s Hiplife sensation and BET Award winner Michael Owusu Addo popularly known by his stage name Sarkodie has expressed his benevolence by donating products worth fifteen thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc15, 000) and an undisclosed sum of money to the Royal Seed Home in Kasoa as part of his birthday celebration at a colourful ceremony which also marked the launch of his charity project – The Sarkodie Foundation.

The Samsung brand ambassador stated his love for kids as the main motivation for the donation. “I have always been passionate about kids and always wish to be in the position to help them reach their goals. Most kids unfortunately find themselves deprived from the many good things life has to offer and as someone who went through the hassle of life before reaching my current status, nothing makes me happier than to put a smile on the faces of these kids, most of whom have goals and ambitions just like I did when I was their age and as such I want help them realise their dreams’’.

Sarkodie who also doubles as Fan Milk ambassador included in his items to the orphanage, a brand new Samsung Duracool Refrigerator, products from Fan Milk, boxes of Indomie, beverages from Coca-Cola, clothing, food from Shoprite and products from Tigo. Presenting the items to the orphanage, Sarkodie was accompanied by his business manager, Sammy Forson who also reiterated the talented Samsung brand ambassador’s commitment to giving back to his fans and the society as a whole, stating that Sarkodie has become a role model for most of these kids who aspire to be like him, and as a lover of children he always explores opportunities to empower them to be the best in what they do. Sammy Forson continued to assure the gathering that this won’t be a one stop activity and emphasized that the Sarkodie Foundation is here to change the scene of charity in the country. He promised of more of such donations to follow nationwide.

Madam Naomi Amoah, founder of the Orphanage, who received the items on behalf of the orphanage, was full of praise and thanked Sarkodie and his team for their benevolence, she also urged other celebrities to follow in his footsteps. The artiste also finally expressed his sincere gratitude to Samsung Ghana, Fan Milk Ghana, Tigo, Indomie, Coca Cola and Shoprite for their support.
