"‘Adams Apples’ season 2 gets ‘dumped’ by DStv?

As it stands, the mill is beaming red hot with the latest story making headline as it has to do with the fact that ‘Adams Apples’ season 2 has been dropped by DStv.

When Ghanaian film maker, Shirley Frimpong Manso, scored a deal with DStv’s Africa Magic channel to rebroadcast her 10-chapter movie series, ‘Adams Apples’ as a TV series, rumours had it that the money was as ‘sweet’ as honey paving room for an extension into a second season.

The big blow came after the Valentine’s Day premiere of ‘Adams Apples’ season 2 at the National Theatre, then the mill started pointing different possibilities in forms of hints suggesting that DStv would not be airing the second season.

To confirm that something was really going wrong, one media person coined it this way, “indeed, for my article about the premiere I wanted to write about the dates for airing on DStv and other local stations, so I called someone from the Sparrow Productions office, and I was told that they had not sorted out dates for airing since shooting was still ongoing.”

Shirley’s fall-out with DStv has to do with some marketing procedures. She has a whole lot of adverts on the series and DStv wants her to take the entire chunk off so to allow them source for their own advert revenues. Pronto!

Even if, Shirley chooses call-off DStv’s bluff, it points to reason that Viasat 1 has come to her rescue but for how much is what we are yet to find out.
