Celebs Mourns President Mills

The death of President Mills last Tuesday came as a surprise to almost everyone and many Ghanaians have been placed in a sad mood.

Here, some of our celebs comment on the death of the man many have come to know as ‘Asomdwe Hene’

Abeiku Santana The President was a very good friend of mine. We lived in the same neighbourhood, attend the same church, Emmanuel Methodist Church and come from the same hometown.

The late President consoled me when my son and daughter died and today he’s no more. I am in tears now and really don’t know when I can recover from this.

He calls me Abusuapayin and I love to respond the same. He was a gentle and peace loving man and I believe God has prepared a special place for him. He is my mentor, my father and my leader.

Abrantee Amakye Dede I will do whatever I can as a musician to console the bereaved family. The news of the President’s death is sad one since this is the first time in the history of this nation. I am still in shock trying to forget about it but it’s not easy.

Whatever the family has lost due to this tragic death, I pray that the good Lord replaces it. I’m no t into politics but I know he was a good man and had the country at heart. May he rest in perfect peace.

Yvonne Okoro This is the first time Ghanaians should come together as one on matter our political differences. A peace-loving man that he was but today he’s no more. He was our President whether we liked it or not and therefore have to accord him that respect than people trying to blame others for his death. He was calm, very respectful and a hard working man.

Jon Germain I pray for the peace of this nation at this crucial moment when election is just around the corner. The late President sacrificed a lot for this country and I respect him for that. Nobody should politicize his death. May he rest in peace.

Roselyn Ngissah A father indeed he was. He was my mentor and a role model. Although he’s achieved a lot, he never bothered a lot about the bashing he received from the people but still went on trying his best for the country. I know the family will find it very difficult to bear with the situation but I hope God sees them through. Prez Atta Mills, wherever you are, I know God is keeping you safe.

Nana Ama McBrown I am not saying this because he’s passed on but the late President was a peace-loving man. He was open minded and a father to all. I wish him he had live longer but God knows best why he called him. My condolences to his wife and family.

Blakk Rasta The late President’s death was so sudden, someone will say, ‘not this time as the election is just around the corner’. Death is unpredictable and I hope this serves as a lesson to the political parties to unite and reason together as one people. My prayer is that God sees us through this election peacefully.

Bola Ray I don’t have much to say, my condolences to his family, I know it’s a very sad moment for them but I will urge them to take heart. May his soul rest in peace.

Supt. Kofi Sarpong Christians should come and pray for the nation as we continue to mourn the death of our dear late President John Evans Atta Mills. His death came as a surprise to me and although I’m still trying to recover from the shock. I hope nobody tries any move that will create confusion in the country. I loved the late President for his hard work and dedication. Peace unto his family.

Alex Biney My condolences go to the wife and his family. I know it will be very difficult time for his wife but I urge her to remain calm and trust the Lord because he knows best why it happened.

We express our sympathies and condolence to the widow Madam Naadu Mills, the family and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). May the good Lord grant him a safe haven and keep him in his bosom until we meet again.

Lucky Mensah No matter our political differences, the news of the death of the President is not something anybody should be happy about. I was so sad to hear the leader of our nation has passed on.

Kwabena Kwabena I was in the studio recording. I stopped whatever I was doing and called a few friends to confirm the unfortunate death of the President. In fact, I am still in shock but all I will say is my condolences to his wife and family and may he his soul rest in peace.

Eazzy I am still in shock now; I was watching the news on the television in the afternoon when I got to know that the President John Evans Atta had passed on. This moment, all I will wish is that Ghanaians unite as one people no matter our political differences. It is my hope that the new President, John Mahama leads the country peacefully till December when we go for elections. My condolence to the wife. May God be with him wherever he is.**
