Award-winning gospel radio show host, Fifi Folson, of Sunny FM’s Sunset Drive fame will on this Sunday, 20th November, at 3:30pm, rally 22 finest upcoming gospel ministers (part of the Next Generational Gospel Ministers’ Network) from all over the country, backed by budding gospel band PL Crew, to stage a charity concert dubbed ‘Celebration of Love’. The concert is scheduled to take place at the spacious Ahenfie auditorium of the Royal House Chapel International Church, adjacent Obetsebi Lamptey Circle in Accra.
The charity concert is being organised by Sunny FM and Fifi Folson’s Fan Club to raise funds and items to support inmates of the Teshie Orphanage. It also seeks to create awareness for public concern towards the needy and poor in society especially when the festive season is close by.
“After the Celebration of Grace Concert on 22nd May 2010, which also marked my five years on radio and launched the ‘Youth Evangelism Project’ as well as the Fifi Folson Fan Club, we are taking a different ministry turn and this is it. We want to take the love of Jesus to the poor and needy through deeds of gift donations and organising a Christmas party for the orphans at Teshie Orphanage,” Fifi Folson revealed.
The November 20 concert aside its charity focus, according to organisers, will be a night to enjoy and experience hit gospel songs from different African countries in the most creative renditions. As many as 22 finest gospel music ministers, including: Joe Mettle, Calvis Hammond, Jane Yawson, Dave Osabutey and the likes will take turn to each minister a song carefully selected from fans’ list of their favourite African gospel songs. Most of the hit songs have been re-arranged to suit the styles of the artistes and will awe patrons.
