Musicians Warn Black Stars Over Asamoah Gyan

A group of musicians have issued a warning to the management of the senior national team, the Black Stars, over Asamoah Gyan.

The group is enraged by the move of the Black Stars management team to feature Asamoah Gyan on Sunday’s match between the Black Stars and the Ghanaian musicians at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.

According to the group, Asamoah Gyan, who is also a musician, is among the top eleven players, including Samini, Castro, Tic Tac, Amakye Dede, King David, Kwaisey Pee, among others, selected by the musicians to play against the Black Stars.

At a meeting held in Accra, the musicians declared that they would resist any attempt by the Black Stars to feature Asamoah Gyan on Sunday. They however advised the management of the senior national team to release Asamoah Gyan to the musicians before the Sunday match.

The group told BEATWAVES on Tuesday that the stadium was the exact platform the musicians would need in building their confidence, among other things, ahead of other friendly matches billed for the year.

Sammy Anim Addo of Goldstar Consult, organizers of the event dubbed ‘Stars Soccer Fiesta’, disclosed that there would be musical performances by some selected music icons such as Tagoe Sisters, Castro and Asamoah Gyan and a host of others.

He said the after party and dinner would take place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra after the event.
