Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum, of Guinness World Records (GWR) fame following her Singathon attempt, has joined the growing number of sympathisers mourning the death of Javits Frimpong, a 15-year-old Ghanaian boy who was tragically shot by unidentified individuals believed to be his peers.

The young boy was reportedly shot by three unidentified individuals in the Bronx, New York, in an incident that has left his family and loved ones devastated.

Afua Asantewaa has called on the relevant authorities to intensify investigations and ensure that those responsible for the heinous act are brought to justice.

Expressing her grief in a social media post on November 3, 2026, she said she was deeply devastated by the incident and called for justice for the deceased.

"I am so devastated and shattered to the core. In fact, the perpetrators of this wicked act should not go unpunished when found. I am calling for justice for Javits (#JusticeForJavits). I sympathise with the deceased's family," she shared.

She further expressed her sorrow, describing the deceased as a young person with great potential whose life had been cut short.

"I am grieving for the departed young fellow because I am a mother, and this can happen to anyone. I see great potential in the lost soul. He would have risen to become a great personality. I am so broken, which is the reason for my recent videos paying glowing tributes. We have lost a gem," she added.

Javits Badu Nkansah Frimpong was a 15-year-old Ghanaian student who was fatally shot in the Bronx, New York.

The incident occurred on October 29, 2026, near East 171st Street and Crotona Place in the Claremont neighbourhood of the Bronx.

Javits reportedly moved from Ghana to the United States about a year ago to live with his father, Thomas Frimpong. He was a 10th-grade student at The DreamYard Preparatory School and was described as a quiet and dedicated student who aspired to become a doctor.

Reports indicate that the teenager was walking to school when he was pursued by three individuals wearing hoodies and surgical masks. He reportedly attempted to flee and dropped his backpack, which was subsequently picked up by a bystander. The suspects then opened fire on him.

He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives with the New York Police Department (NYPD) have been investigating possible motives behind the shooting, including a robbery gone wrong, mistaken identity and possible school-related bullying.

His father reportedly indicated that Javits had recently experienced bullying, with two students allegedly having been suspended in connection with previous incidents.

The NYPD has reportedly issued a subpoena to the New York City Department of Education for records relating to the bullying allegations as part of its investigations.

As of early November 2026, no arrests had been publicly announced in connection with the shooting.

Meanwhile, calls for justice continue to grow as family members, friends and sympathisers demand answers and urge authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to book.
