Ghanaian rapper Kweku Flick has credited Sarkodie’s hit song, ‘Messiah’, for playing a major role in reviving his music career after he considered stepping away from music following the death of his father.

Speaking in an interview on 3Music on November 2, 2026, Kweku Flick expressed gratitude to Sarkodie for giving him an opportunity to feature on the song, stating that the platform changed his life in ways he might not even realise.

“I give a big shout-out to Sarkodie. The platform he gave me did a lot, and I am not even sure he knows what he has done for me,” he said.

He revealed that he lost his father in August 2024 and went through a difficult period that made him question whether he should continue pursuing music.

According to him, he prayed to God for a sign to confirm whether music was still the path he was meant to follow.

Kweku Flick said that in November 2024, he received a message containing a song titled Messiah from Sarkodie, which he interpreted as the sign he had been praying for.

“I lost my dad in August 2024. After everything that happened, I went on my knees and prayed to God that if He really wanted me to do music, He should show me a sign. Then, in November, I received a message with a song titled Messiah from Sarkodie,” he stated.

The rapper explained that the song became a turning point in his career, adding that without the opportunity, he might have abandoned music to concentrate on his mineral water business.

“I feel like that particular song has changed a lot because if it hadn’t been that song, I wouldn’t be here today. I would have been focusing on my mineral water,” he shared.

He further recounted how he got the inspiration to create his part of the song while listening to Sarkodie's verses in a car.

Kweku Flick noted that the song already had Sarkodie's first and second verses but lacked a chorus, prompting him to come up with a suitable hook to complement the rapper's delivery.

“Immediately I listened to the song, I told myself that this is my type. I was driving in a car and I was playing it. At that moment, I got the idea and the lyrics. The song had his verse; the first and second verse but no chorus, so I had to do something that will suit the verse,” he added.
