Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has threatened legal action against bloggers and social media users spreading what he describes as false reports about his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, particularly fabricated announcements of her death and misleading claims about her health.
In an emotional appeal, the Nigerian lawmaker urged Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators to stop circulating distressing stories about the actress, insisting that she needs compassion, privacy and time to recover from her health challenges.
Nwoko made the appeal in a Facebook post on Monday, November 2, 2026, expressing concern that the continued circulation of false information was worsening the difficulties Regina was already facing.
"I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space," he wrote.
He explained that his appeal was not solely about the actress but also their two children, who, according to him, deserve to see their mother receive the necessary love and support.
"I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better," he added.
The senator said Regina had endured more than many people realised and that the public should resist the temptation to judge her based on developments surrounding her personal life.
According to him, a video the actress shared on her birthday on October 10, 2026, offered a glimpse into some of the health difficulties she had been experiencing.
"Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover," Nwoko stated.
"As someone who knows what she has been through, I can tell you that this is not a time to judge, vilify or add to her burdens. It is a time to show compassion and allow her the opportunity to heal."
He further maintained that despite the difficulties in their relationship, Regina's well-being remained important to him, adding that concerns about her condition were among the reasons their private disagreements became public.
Nwoko, however, reserved his strongest criticism for individuals allegedly manufacturing and circulating false stories about the actress, particularly reports announcing her death.
He described such publications as harmful rather than harmless attempts to generate social media engagement, claiming that Regina sees many of the reports and is deeply distressed by them.
"I am particularly concerned about the circulation of false and disturbing reports about her, including fabricated death announcements, misleading stories and other hurtful content. These things are not harmless social media engagement," he said.
He called on Regina's supporters to discourage the circulation of such content instead of sharing or amplifying it.
The senator also issued a stern warning to bloggers and social media accounts deliberately publishing unverified information about the actress's health and personal circumstances.
"Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances," he cautioned.
Nwoko disclosed that publications considered misleading were being documented and warned that individuals found responsible could face legal consequences.
"We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels. There is a limit to what should be tolerated, and that limit has been reached," he added.
His comments come against the backdrop of a prolonged and highly publicised marital dispute between him and Regina, which has involved allegations of domestic violence, substance abuse, family interference and a contentious battle over their children.
Background of Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko's marital crisis
Regina Daniels and Nwoko's relationship has been under intense public scrutiny since October 2025, when their marital disagreements escalated into a series of accusations and counter-accusations on social media.
The actress, who married the senator in 2019, first drew widespread attention to the crisis after a viral video showed her in tears, alleging that she could no longer endure violence in the marriage.
In the video, she was heard saying: "In Ned's house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. Not again, I cannot stand the violence, it is too much."
Nwoko subsequently denied the domestic violence allegations and accused the actress of substance and alcohol abuse, claiming that she needed rehabilitation. Regina disputed aspects of his account and made further allegations of abuse, manipulation and controlling behaviour.
The disagreement also extended to their families, with Regina accusing the senator of being behind the arrest of some of her relatives. Nwoko denied some of the allegations levelled against him, while the Nigeria Police Force confirmed the arrest of her elder brother, Samuel Daniels, popularly known as Sammy West, in connection with a petition involving several alleged offences.
The dispute later developed into a legal battle over their two sons, Munir and Khalifa.
In June 2026, Premium Times reported that an Abuja Family Court had granted Nwoko temporary custody of the children and directed that Regina could regain access after completing supervised drug rehabilitation and undergoing an assessment by the Abuja Social Welfare Department.
Regina had separately alleged that she had been denied access to her children, while Nwoko's communications team disputed her account. The custody proceedings remained a subject of public interest.

Despite the unresolved disagreements, Nwoko's latest statement has taken a different tone, with the senator focusing on Regina's well-being and appealing for an end to the online attacks against her.
He maintained that the actress deserves an opportunity to recover without being subjected to fresh allegations and fabricated reports every day.
"Regina deserves the opportunity to recover without being subjected to a fresh wave of fabricated stories every day," he said.

Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain.
I am particularly concerned about the circulation of false and disturbing reports about her, including fabricated death announcements, misleading stories and other hurtful content. These things are not harmless social media engagement. Regina sees many of these posts, and they are deeply distressing. They do nothing to support her recovery, rather, they add to the burden she is already carrying. I appeal to her fans, who genuinely care about her, to help discourage this behaviour instead of amplifying it.
Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances. Those hiding behind social media accounts to invent stories, mislead the public and exploit her situation for clicks and engagement should stop immediately. We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels. There is a limit to what should be tolerated, and that limit has been reached. Regina deserves the opportunity to recover without being subjected to a fresh wave of fabricated stories every day.
