Nigerian actor Uzor Arukwe has revealed that actress BamBam fainted on the set of their hit YouTube film 'Love in Every Word', forcing production to halt for about two weeks.
Speaking on the CreatiViTea Podcast, Arukwe said he initially had no expectations for the project and did not even know BamBam would be his co-star when he signed on.
According to him, he had only been contracted for three days, but by the end of the third day, the team had completed fewer than 20 scenes despite the script containing more than 100 scenes.
“By day three, BamBam fainted. We were about to take a shot when she dropped,” he recounted.
Arukwe said filming was suspended for about two weeks before the film’s line producer called him and BamBam to persuade them to return and complete the project.
“I didn’t even tell my manager. I didn’t collect an extra. We just wanted to finish the film,” he said, adding that the cast and crew were more focused on completing the project than discussing additional payment.
Reflecting on the role, Arukwe admitted he did not consider it one of his strongest performances but said he committed fully to the character after discussing boundaries for intimate scenes with BamBam, especially in the absence of intimacy coordinators on set.
The actor also disclosed that neither he nor BamBam anticipated the overwhelming success of the film, noting that she barely promoted it before its release.
He recalled checking YouTube shortly after the film premiered and seeing it amass 1.8 million views within two hours before climbing to over four million views in the following hour.
“I called BamBam and asked, ‘What is happening?’ She said, ‘Uzor, you see what God is doing.’ It was one of those films you never would think would make such an impact on people, and that was the film God decided to use,” he said.
