Ghanaian DJ and media personality DJ Switch has praised the country’s music industry, describing it as “so dope” while also opening up about some of the artistes she has had the opportunity to work with both in Ghana and abroad.
Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb’s Patience Adu, the award-winning DJ said she has shared stages with some of the biggest names in music over the years.
“I got to perform with Wyclef Jean internationally. I’ve been on the same stage as Sarkodie. I’ve worked with Fameye… I’ve worked with so many artistes. I have new stuff coming out, so watch out,” she said.

DJ Switch added that beyond individual collaborations, she has also been privileged to perform alongside several top musicians in Ghana and outside the country, including during the Ghana DJ Awards tribute performance with OG The MC.
Sharing her thoughts on the state of Ghanaian music, she said the industry has evolved significantly and is now producing a wide range of unique sounds capable of competing on the global stage.
“We’re so dope. Ghanaian music… we’re so dynamic. It’s crazy to think there was a time when we were complaining about being so one way,” she said.
Referencing Black Sherif’s comments about who could win Ghana’s first Grammy, DJ Switch agreed that the country’s talent pool is so diverse that the honour could come from any artiste.
Highlighting acts such as Kwame Eugene, KiDi, R2Bees, Black Sherif and AratheJay, she said each brings a distinct style while maintaining an authentic Ghanaian sound.
“We’re choked with talent. No matter how similar you think somebody sounds, when you pay attention to their artistry and craft, you can hear the difference. Different styles, same Ghanaian authenticity. We’re so dope,” she stated.
