‘Stop inciting the youth to ruin their future’ – Gloria Sarfo to creatives

Ghanaian actress Gloria Sarfo has urged established creatives to use their influence and social media platforms to inspire young people positively rather than encourage them to engage in activities that could jeopardise their future.

Speaking in an interview with SammyKay Media on October 25, 2026, she called on industry players to serve as good role models for the younger generation and lead lives that others could emulate.

According to her, creatives have a responsibility to ensure that their actions and public statements encourage young people to make the right choices and build meaningful lives.

“As people who have already established ourselves in the industry, I want to use this medium to tell all of us that our platforms should be able to impact the youth positively. We shouldn't instigate; we shouldn't incite any youth to go and do something that will affect their future. Let's be examples, great examples someone will look up to, to live their lives and be proud at the end of the day,” she said.

Gloria Sarfo further stressed that creatives should conduct themselves in ways that would make parents comfortable knowing their children looked up to them as mentors.

“Let's live our lives in such a way that when someone mentions us as their mentor to their parents, their parents will also be happy that their child will be on the right path. I think that's all we need to do as creatives,” she stated.

The actress also advised young people not to compare their progress with that of others, noting that everyone has a different journey and should learn to appreciate their individual pace of growth.

“Life is lifing everybody. Let's take things slow. Listen, someone's journey will never be like yours and it's fine. Let's take it easy, one step at a time,” she shared.

She encouraged young people to take advantage of available opportunities, build meaningful connections and be intentional about creating lives that would allow them to positively influence others in the future.

“Let's take advantage of opportunities around us and you know, let's build great connections and also be intentional about building a life in order to impact somebody in the near future,” she noted.

Gloria Sarfo also cautioned against spending too much time seeking public attention or trying to prove a point to others.

“Plus, we shouldn't spend all our lives trying to be seen, trying to prove a point to anybody. Just live your life,” she added.
