Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has praised Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale for his genuine support and kindness, revealing that he has never paid him to perform at any of his shows.

According to Mr Eazi, although Shatta Wale is often perceived by some people as unpredictable or controversial, he is one of the smartest and most genuine people he knows.

Speaking during a livestream with MadeinGhana on October 25, 2026, Mr Eazi recounted how Shatta Wale once surprised him with an appearance at Detty Rave without informing him beforehand.

He said he was performing at the event when he suddenly heard the audience screaming. Upon looking back, he realised Shatta Wale had arrived to support him.

“I was just performing, then all of a sudden, people started screaming. I was wondering what was going on, only for me to look back and I saw Shatta Wale. He came to support me and he didn’t even call me. We didn’t have any conversation about the show,” he said.

‘I officially considered myself an artiste after my first London concert’ - Mr Eazi

Mr Eazi explained that while he has paid other artistes to perform at his events, Shatta Wale has never demanded payment from him before showing up to offer his support.

“A lot of times I do shows and you see artistes there, I pay them, but I’ve never paid Shatta Wale to come and perform. He would turn up there and show love,” he stated.

The singer noted that Shatta Wale’s gesture made a lasting impression on him, explaining why he stayed awake until about 4 a.m. to support the Ghanaian artiste during his stadium concert.

“That’s why when he had the stadium show, I stayed up till like 4 a.m. to support him,” Mr Eazi shared.

He further described Shatta Wale as one of the “realest” people he knows, suggesting that the dancehall artiste’s actions speak louder than the public perception surrounding him.

“A lot of people feel like Shatta Wale is crazy or like a live wire, but he’s actually one of the smartest people I know. He is also one of the realest people I know,” he added.
