Ghanaian actor Jeffrey Nortey has explained why he is unapologetic about expressing his Christian faith. According to him, he cannot hide the fact that God is responsible for his success.
Speaking in an interview on the Talk No Dey Cook Rice podcast, Jeffrey Nortey recounted how someone within the entertainment industry once advised him to stop frequently talking about God on social media and instead focus on building his acting brand.
According to him, the person suggested that constantly mentioning God in his Instagram captions would do little to promote his career.
“I was told, ‘Charlie, just focus on the craft. Focus and push the craft. This God, God, God thing, it’s not gonna help the brand,’” he recalled.

However, Nortey said he rejected the advice because he believes God is the one elevating his career.
“How can God put me out there, then I will hide Him? What kind of trade is that? I can’t. So I have to loud it. I’m not even doing it the way I want to do it. I promised Him that every platform I get, I will talk about Him,” he said.
The actor stressed that preaching about God is not a responsibility reserved for pastors alone, insisting that every Christian has a duty to share their faith regardless of their profession.
“I am not a pastor, yet. But we are all obliged to spread the word. It’s not just meant for the pastor. Wherever you find yourself, you have to loud God there. Everything you do very well is a calling. What you are doing now is a ministry,” he stated.
Nortey further argued that every profession serves a divine purpose, adding that if believers fail to fulfil their calling, someone with different intentions could take their place.
Using examples of cooks, bankers and doctors, he said Christians should see their work as an opportunity to serve God while positively impacting society.
“If you are a banker and you are a child of God, you are meant to take care of my money. If you don’t do it, the devil will employ someone to do it. Do you know the number of doctors that they chant? The number of doctors who are coming from a different world? And these people are operating; these people are delivering babies; these people are touching wombs. So whatever we are doing, be it doctor, whatever, I believe it is a calling, and we must do it well,” he said.
