PRO for Praise Achievement Awards, Precious Mawunya-Ko, has appealed to corporate bodies and brands for support ahead of the fifth edition of the gospel awards scheme, describing sponsorship as key to delivering a bigger and better celebration of excellence.

Speaking at the launch of the 2026 Praise Achievement Awards, he said the scheme has grown over the years and gained the confidence of the gospel fraternity but needs more financial backing to achieve its full potential.

“We need some legacy. Charlie, we need sponsors. We need straight to the point, sponsors to come on board so that we’ll do this seamlessly,” he said.

He encouraged brands to associate themselves with the awards scheme, describing it as “a brand of prestige” that provides a platform to celebrate individuals making significant contributions to gospel music and ministry.

“This is a brand of prestige. Come attach yourself to the brand,” he added.

The fifth edition of the awards is expected to celebrate gospel creatives who have demonstrated excellence through their works and ministries.

According to him, the scheme is focused on recognising individuals who continue to invest in their talents and impact lives through gospel music.

“This fifth edition is actually one that we are looking at honoring the greatness that they have brought on board. We are doing nothing but just honoring people that are doing great,” he stated.

Explaining the nomination process, Precious Mawunya-Ko revealed that nominees are selected through public submissions, recommendations, and research by the awards team.

He noted that while individuals can file nominations for eligible works released in 2025, the research team also identifies deserving works and personalities who may not have submitted entries.

“There are people who actually didn’t file, but we look at the work, and we say that we can’t bypass this work in 2025 under review, and we have to add it,” he explained.

He added that the final nominees list went through scrutiny and reflected the quality of work produced within the period under review.

He further highlighted the growth of the awards scheme over the past four years, stating that the journey has involved learning from previous editions and improving the experience for stakeholders.

“Praise Achievement Awards for four years has been a growing brand. This is the fifth. We believe that we are learning from our mistakes over time and the Christian fraternity is beginning to gain trust in the scheme,” he said.

He also disclosed that this year’s edition will come with bigger rewards for winners, recalling that the previous edition saw the Blogger of the Year receive an iPhone 15, while other categories are expected to have attractive prizes attached.

“This year is actually getting bigger and better,” he added, while renewing their call for brands to support the awards as it continues to grow.
