Ghanaian cleric, Prophet David Rauf, has appealed to the management of the popular Atwea Mountains Prayer Camp to tighten management of the facility and protect what he describes as the sanctity of the prayer grounds.

According to Prophet Rauf, Atwea Mountains is primarily a place where people seek divine encounters through prayer and fasting, and activities that are unrelated to its spiritual purpose could distract worshippers.

In a video circulating on TikTok, the prophet questioned the presence of food vendors, particularly those selling cooked meals, at the prayer camp.

"What is a waakye seller doing on top of the mountain? What kind of temptation is that?" he asked.

Prophet Rauf suggested that food vendors operating within the prayer area should instead be relocated to the foot of the mountain.

"I hope the managers of Atwea don't take this as an attack. It is an appeal I'm making to you. We need to protect the sanctity of the prayer sanctuary," he said.

He also raised concerns about other activities, including content creation and hiking, which he said could distract people who visit the mountain specifically to pray and seek God.

While acknowledging the popularity of the facility, Prophet Rauf urged its managers to ensure that activities taking place there remain consistent with its primary purpose as a prayer and fasting centre.

He called for measures to preserve the spiritual atmosphere of the mountain for worshippers who travel there in search of solitude and divine encounters.
