Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has paid a visit to the German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft, at his residence in Accra.

The visit, which brought together the musician, the Ambassador and their respective teams, was highlighted by discussions about music, Ghana-Germany relations and Black Sherif’s growing connection with German audiences.

The German Embassy in Ghana shared photos from the visit on its social media platforms, describing it as a “dream come true” for Ambassador Landshöft and his family, who have been fans of Black Sherif’s music for years.

According to the Embassy, the Ambassador first discovered Black Sherif’s music in Berlin in 2022 after hearing his hit song Kwaku the Traveller, which he subsequently named his “song of the year”.

The Embassy said Black Sherif’s music has since accompanied the Ambassador’s family’s journey to Ghana, with songs including Lomo Lomo and IRON BOY becoming part of their experiences in the country.

The family also watched Black Sherif perform live at Zaama Disco as their Christmas present in 2025.

During the latest visit, Black Sherif and the Ambassador discussed rap, highlife and Afrobeats, as well as some of the stories behind his music and his newly released EP, SUN SHERIF.

The Embassy also highlighted the Ghana-Germany connection in Black Sherif’s music, noting that First Sermon and Second Sermon were produced by Berlin-based German-Ghanaian producer Ghanaian Stallion.

Beyond the music discussions, Black Sherif and Ambassador Landshöft also faced off in a game of table tennis, with the musician narrowly emerging victorious.

The Embassy described Black Sherif as a “humble, thoughtful and deeply reflective artist” and congratulated him on the release of SUN SHERIF.
