‘He needs our prayer and support’ – Ofori Amponsah appeals for Barosky

Ghanaian highlife musician Ofori Amponsah has called for prayers, support and medical attention for his former music partner, Barosky, amid concerns about the latter’s current situation.

According to Ofori Amponsah, he believes Barosky may have been dealing with personal challenges for a long time and needs professional help rather than people focusing on past disagreements.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on September 17, 2026, Ofori Amponsah said reconnecting with Barosky would be important so he could encourage him to seek medical attention.

“What I think we have to do for Barosky this time is not to fight over spilt milk. What we need to do is the closeness. I think he is going through something and he needs medical attention,” he said.

He continued, “For me, that is the solution because this thing probably started way back before we even got to London. He needs medical attention and if I’m able to connect with him, that’s what I would say. He needs our prayer and support.”

Ofori Amponsah, who said he had previously witnessed a similar situation involving his sister, explained that some challenges can return even after a person appears to have recovered.

“I had a sister who went through the same thing. You will talk to her and she’s okay, but it will just trigger again,” he shared.

The musician also addressed the history between himself and Barosky, revealing that their professional relationship ended in 2007 after Barosky left his camp over disagreements concerning his solo career.

Ofori Amponsah disclosed that he met Barosky in 2004 and that they worked together for about three years before the latter decided to leave the camp.

“Barosky left me a year into our whole relationship. It was 2007 and I met him in 2004. Around 2007, he was trying to get his own album out, which I wasn’t ready to,” he explained.

He stated that he had advised Barosky to continue featuring on songs while they worked towards releasing his own album at the right time, but Barosky did not agree with the approach.

“I said we should give him time a bit; he should just feature a bit, then we come up with his own album and solidify the name he was building. He didn’t understand, so he left the camp in 2007,” he noted.

Ofori Amponsah, however, questioned whether he should be held responsible for Barosky’s current predicament, pointing out that they have been separated professionally for nearly two decades.

“He has left me for almost 20 years, so am I to be blamed for his predicament? I can’t give him $1,000 to solve his problems,” he added.
