Celebrated Ghanaian actor and director Fiifi Coleman has disclosed that he has placed the much-talked-about Bob Cole classic, "I Told You So," on hold following its successful stage runs in the country.

According to the renowned director and founder of Fiifi Coleman Productions, his decision to halt the classic Ghanaian stage play is motivated by his desire to transform it into a movie.

He explained that the movie, I Told You So, will be released on March 6, 2027, to coincide with Ghana's Independence Day.

Fiifi Coleman further explained that his decision to premiere the classic Ghanaian movie on Independence Day is to commemorate Ghana's 70th anniversary.

"In March, we announced that Ghana turns 70 next year, March, so what we are doing as a company next year is to project that image in our culture, our storytelling language as well.

"...And so the decision was made all the way back in March, as we announced that by 6th March of 2027, we will also release the movie, I Told You So," he said.

Fiifi Coleman additionally noted that his production team has already started filming the iconic movie, adding that actors from the classic legendary story will feature in the film, including Mr Beautiful, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley and others.

According to him, his decision to transform the play into a movie is aimed at ensuring that the story lives on with Ghanaians for a longer period, allowing future generations to tell it in their own unique way.

He further explained that although the movie will maintain the same storyline, he has included some unique features to make Ghanaians remember aspects of the past that appear to have been forgotten.

"We thought it was right, and I actually did announce that we have officially started filming I Told You So, and that we are promising Ghanaians that come March 2027, we will release an adaptation which is still going to be I Told You So.

"We have added some things to it; it couldn't be the same thing that you saw years ago. We've added some things to it that we think will make it a legacy project to leave, hoping that maybe 20 more years to come, someone else will pick it up and they can also tell the story of I Told You So again in their own way," he added.
