Award-winning Ghanaian musician King Promise has shared his favourite football stars and explained why he considers them among the best.

In an interview with GhanaWeb's Isaac Dadzie on September 5, 2026, during the singer's "Rent Paid" football exhibition tournament, he revealed that Ghanaian footballer Michael Essien is one of his favourite players.

According to him, Michael Essien was one of the reasons he became a Chelsea fan.

He additionally noted that, aside from Essien, Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo is also one of his favourite players.

"Michael Essien is one of my idols, and he is one of the reasons why I am a Chelsea fan. My GOAT is Cristiano Ronaldo," he said.

King Promise also revealed the artistes he would want to feature on a soundtrack if a movie were made about his life.

"R2Bees, Drake, and I love Cina Soul. I am not a big Beyoncé [fan], but I love Adele. God bless everyone. I appreciate everybody and thank everyone who showed up," he added.
