Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu has once again responded to critics who continue to attack him over his ex‑wife’s divorce, despite his sponsorship of her trip to the United States.
In a video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 7, 2026, Kwaku Manu dismissed the criticism, insisting that taking his ex‑wife abroad was not a big deal.
According to him, only “poor people” would complain about such matters, stating that sponsoring someone’s trip abroad should not be exaggerated into a major achievement.

He explained that his decision to sponsor her trip abroad was because he wanted to surprise her on her birthday in 2017.
Kwaku Manu also explained that, aside from surprising her on her birthday, another motivation was his longstanding desire to see families spend their holidays abroad.
"Only poor people will talk about such a thing. If you sponsor someone's trip abroad, it isn't a big deal, but it is expensive for those of us who don't have money. It is expensive for people who use their last money to sponsor their loved one's trip abroad.

"I only took my wife and children abroad because it was nice. Anytime I hear or see families who have travelled abroad, I also want to do the same. After returning from Europe, it was getting close to her birthday, so I decided to surprise her. That was when I took her and my children to the United States because there was an opportunity," he said.
Kwaku Manu further disclosed that he had sponsored trips abroad for his younger brother and a friend, adding that the least he could do for his ex-wife was to take her abroad.
"I even sponsored my brother and his friend's trip abroad, so what is the big deal about this? I am sure some people have not had intimacy abroad before," he added.
