Two Ghanaian disc jockeys, DJ Mensah and Streetbeatz, are locked in a heated social media exchange over what appears to be a business disagreement.

It all began on Monday, September 7, 2026, when Streetbeatz took to X to lament the amount DJ Mensah had charged him for a setlist. Tagging rapper Sarkodie, he pleaded with the artiste to intervene.

“King Sarkodie, please let DJMENSAH1 know that demanding payment from me before providing your setlist is really unfair. We all have bread sitting somewhere for years now. Thank you,” he wrote.

DJ Mensah quickly fired back, referencing a previous transaction in which Streetbeatz had charged him $5,000.

“The irony is beautiful. I approached you about doing a few projects, and you quoted me $5K per production. I didn’t argue… I simply moved on. Same year, you came back asking me for setlists for international shows. I gave you the same energy… $5K per setlist. Now you’re online looking for public sympathy because business didn’t go your way? Some lessons are expensive. Consider this one free… Massa shift,” Mensah noted.

DJ Mensah further accused Streetbeatz of seeking sympathy on social media and radio, adding that the $5,000 fee demanded before providing the setlist was unwarranted.

According to him, Streetbeatz should stop “chasing” artistes, DJs, radio stations, and entertainment platforms for setlists, since professional platforms already exist to provide such data.

“So now you want your 5 minutes of fame from the subliminal shots you got from me? Since you’ve finally brought this to the public, let me educate you for free: you cannot spend your time chasing artistes, DJs, radio stations, and entertainment platforms, etc. for setlists when professional platforms exist specifically to provide that data. Do your homework before seeking sympathy,” he maintained.

Streetbeatz, visibly displeased with Mensah’s comments, insisted that it is unprofessional to demand the exact amount he had previously been charged for a different production.

“Asking me to pay you before providing a setlist so that I can properly register the works performed and ensure the appropriate rights are accounted for is, in my view, completely uncalled for. This is especially because I charged you for the production services you requested from me, and that was a professional transaction between us.

“You mentioned that I should not be chasing artistes, DJs, radio stations, and entertainment platforms for setlists because professional platforms exist to provide such data. I understand your point, but that doesn’t make it appropriate to demand payment from me for providing information connected to the documentation of works performed,” he said.

Streetbeatz also pushed against claims that he was chasing fame, adding that his concern was about ensuring producers, songwriters, and rights holders receive their due royalties.

“And regarding your comment about me seeking ‘five minutes of fame’ through subliminal shots: honestly, do I look like someone who needs five minutes of fame? I have absolutely no interest in creating publicity from this,” he stated.
