Ghanaian actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown has revealed that she has a strong passion for driving and would gladly embark on a long road trip from Ghana to Europe if she had the opportunity.

According to the actress, she wanted to join a group of people who drove from Ghana to the United Kingdom, but she could not make the trip with them.

Speaking in an interview with MC Portfolio on Angel FM on August 27, 2026, McBrown said she even tried to locate the group because she was interested in travelling with them.

“I wanted to go with the people who drove from Ghana to the UK. I even went looking for them. I can drive from Ghana to Europe if we’re in a group, at least for safety reasons,” she said.

McBrown disclosed that driving is one of her favourite hobbies, alongside cooking.

“Driving is my hobby. My hobbies are driving and cooking,” she stated.

The actress recalled how she used to enjoy driving on the Accra-Kumasi road and would often insist on taking the wheel whenever someone else offered to drive.

“When I used to travel on the Accra-Kumasi road, Chairman will say he would drive, then I will refuse. I know how to drive more than you and I will even allow you to sleep,” she recounted.

She continued, “There’s just one life. When I’m in a bus, I’m not scared of the multitude, but when I’m in someone’s car, my hands would be all over them to keep them active.

She noted that she does not know whether a driver is tired or has had enough rest before getting behind the wheel, which makes her prefer to take control when possible.

“I don’t know what you’re going through or if you even slept last night, so I would have to keep you active. If I get the chance, I would take over and drive,” she explained.

McBrown also revealed that she prefers larger vehicles, particularly because of the nature of her work and the long-distance journeys she sometimes undertakes.

“I don’t like driving small cars. If you want to gift me a car, don’t buy the Benz that is low; I would prefer a G-Wagon,” she shared.

According to McBrown, smaller cars are not ideal for her lifestyle, especially when she needs to travel for work.

“Because of the work we do, I can’t drive these small cars and travel with them,” she added.
