Kumawood actor Abraham Kofi Davies, popularly known as Salinko, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for his support and care for the creative arts industry and its stakeholders.

Speaking in a recent viral video, Salinko described the president as a generous person with a good heart, noting that whenever Ghanaian celebrities find themselves in crisis and need help, President Mahama often steps in to provide the necessary assistance.

“He is a very good person. I have never met him one-on-one before, but the day I finally meet him, I will lie on the floor. Anytime celebrities find themselves in crisis, Mahama steps in to help them. He has a good heart, and he is very generous,” he said.

Other Ghanaian creatives, including Mr Beautiful, Bullgod and veteran musician Obuoba JA Adofo, among others, have in recent times disclosed that President John Dramani Mahama supports them and, in some cases, gives them stipends.

Mahama’s promise

President John Dramani Mahama, promised to create a fund for ageing creatives if he took over the reins of government after the December 2024 election.

At a stakeholder meeting in Accra, he said the welfare of creatives has always been a concern to him, which is why he often makes donations to individuals within the entertainment industry.

President Mahama, therefore, indicated that to sustain and amplify this gesture, he intended to put in place more effective measures to support creatives, particularly ageing practitioners.
