Fashion entrepreneur Osebo the Zaraman has declared that gospel singer Florence Obinim, wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim, is not his friend.

He has explained that their relationship is simply based on mutual respect and a one-time casual interaction.

Speaking to GhanaWeb’s Elsie Lamar, Osebo, who recently faced criticism from Bishop Daniel Obinim over his association with his wife, said Florence is someone whose music he admires but stressed that he does not even have her contact.

According to him, the second time he met Florence Obinim was when she visited his office with media personality Nayas for a video shoot.

He said although he featured in the promotional video, he did not take her number afterwards because he does not consider her a friend and sees no reason to have the contact of a married woman with whom he has nothing to discuss.

“Florence Obinim is not my friend. She is a woman I respect a lot and I love her because of her music. The second time that I saw her was when she came to my shop with Nayas, for me to be in her video which I did. I don’t even have her number. What am I using her number for?

“She is not my friend. She became my friend after she came to my office for the video and even that after then I haven’t taken her number to call her before. Someone’s wife what am I going to call her for?” he stated.

Osebo also noted that people in Ghana often judge others based on what they see on social media without taking the time to properly understand the circumstances surrounding an issue.

He said only wise people take the time to think through situations before contributing to discussions, adding that there are certain comments people make that do not deserve a response.

Osebo’s comments come after Bishop Daniel Obinim said on his church platform that he was disappointed that his wife, Florence, had featured in a music promotional video with Osebo, despite his earlier warning that the two were not on good terms.

Following the comments, Florence Obinim explained that she had no ill intention in seeking Osebo’s assistance with the promotional video.

Osebo has continued to express admiration for Florence Obinim, particularly for her music and the lyrical depth of her songs. He has also made it clear that there is no romantic relationship between him and the gospel singer.
