Nigerian musician Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy of P-Square, has responded to claims made by his twin brother, Peter Okoye, concerning the financial issues that led to an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a video shared on social media on August 11, 2026, Rudeboy urged fans of the defunct music group to refrain from insulting either of the brothers or taking sides amid the ongoing issues surrounding P-Square.
According to him, attacking Peter or supporting one brother over the other would not bring P-Square back together.
“With all sincerity, to all our fans, whatever the outcome of what is going to happen today after what I’m about to say, do not use that opportunity. I’ve realised that ever since Jude made a statement, people go to Peter’s page and insult. You cannot get P-Square back by insulting or taking sides,” he said.
Rudeboy stated that he had initially been hesitant to address the EFCC matter and the issues surrounding P-Square but decided to clarify his side of the story.
He explained that Peter had personally approached him after their reunion and raised concerns about alleged financial diversion involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
According to Rudeboy, although Peter spoke to him about the alleged diversion, his name was not mentioned on the front page of the petition filed with the EFCC.
“If you open the petition Peter wrote, I guarantee you that my name was not on the front page. If you open inside the petition too, you won’t see my name. If you write a petition, you have to come and write a statement, and that was where there was more of me,” he stated.
Rudeboy admitted that Peter had told him about his concerns over money allegedly made by Jude while the brothers were separated.
He mentioned that he acknowledged that Jude had made money during the period, but argued that both he and Peter had also earned money separately.
“He asked me, ‘Do you know that Jude made some money when we were separated?’ I told him I know, just like both of us too made money,” Rudeboy recounted.
P-Square Feud: What we know so far
He explained that his position was that, after the brothers had reunited, they should concentrate on rebuilding their relationship and career rather than revisiting issues from their past.
“Then he asked me what I meant by that. I told him that I was receiving, he was receiving and Jude was also receiving. Since we’re back, we shouldn’t think of the past but rather focus,” he shared.
Rudeboy further revealed that Peter disagreed with his position that the three brothers had shared responsibilities and interests in P-Square.
According to him, Peter maintained that he and Paul were the artistes and therefore the money made by P-Square should primarily concern them.
Rudeboy, however, referred to an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which he said clearly stated that P-Square involved Peter, Paul and Jude.
“He told me that we are the artistes, and I reminded him that we have an MOU that stated that everything about P-Square is Peter, Paul and Jude. He still insisted that the MOU doesn’t count and we are the artistes,” he said.
Rudeboy said he suggested that if Peter believed Jude had made money that belonged to P-Square, the best approach would be to account for all the money made by the three of them and determine whether anyone owed the other.
He disclosed that Peter did not agree to the proposal, leading him to leave the matter unresolved.
“The document is there, and if he claims Jude made some money, he should bring the money. Peter and I should also bring the money we made so that we check everything and know who will balance who. He didn’t want to do that and I also left it that way,” he explained.
Rudeboy also strongly rejected accusations that Jude had diverted money belonging to him.
He further mentioned that the main problem within P-Square was not theft but a breakdown in communication among the three brothers.
“Let me tell you where I got lost in this whole situation. That was when I was accused of diverting money from me. Jude was never diverting any money and he didn’t steal anyone’s money. P-Square couldn’t communicate, and that was the problem,” Rudeboy added.
