Nigerian content creator Jarvis has responded to critics who accused her of being tribalistic after she shaved her hair ahead of her wedding.
In a video shared on social media on August 9, 2026, Jarvis dismissed the criticism, explaining that her decision was purely for beauty and styling purposes as she prepares for her big day.
According to her, she decided to reduce her hair because her hairstylist advised her to do so to ensure that her frontal and hair installation would sit properly.
“Those of you complaining about me barbing my hair and saying it’s tribalistic, shut up,” she said.

Jarvis explained that she has naturally stubborn hair, which has previously made it difficult for her hairstylists to achieve the desired look with her frontal installations.
“I literally took down my hair because I wanted my hair installation to be nice. That’s what my hairstylist wanted because I have stubborn hair,” she explained.
She noted that although her hairstylists had done their best, her natural hair had often affected how well her frontal fitted.
“Most of my hair, my frontal have not been sitting pretty. It’s not that the stylists are not doing a good job but just that my hair is stubborn,” she stated.
According to Jarvis, when her hairstylist suggested cutting down her hair, she readily agreed because she wanted to look her best on her wedding day.
“She told me if I can cut down the hair and I said why not? It’s my wedding and I want to look pretty as a bride,” she added.
Mrs Jarvis finally shared the real reason she barbed her hair for her white wedding for those saying she did it because of tradition, that’s a big lie👇 pic.twitter.com/TNq9CPcAAy
