Two serving members of the Nigerian Army have reportedly been arrested for allegedly providing unauthorised security at the lavish wedding of Nigerian content creators Peller and Jarvis in Lekki, Lagos.

Per reports by SaharaReporters, the soldiers were detained on August 4, 2026, after intelligence indicated that they had been deployed to the celebrity wedding without the necessary military approval.

The soldiers have been identified as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi, both attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH) in Obalende, Lagos.

Military sources said preliminary investigations have begun to determine how the soldiers were assigned to the event and whether additional personnel were involved in the alleged unauthorised deployment.

The arrests come after videos from the star-studded ceremony surfaced online, showing uniformed soldiers controlling crowds and escorting guests around the venue.

One widely shared video showed a soldier accompanying Nigerian TikTok star Ivanna, triggering widespread debate on social media over the use of military personnel at a private celebration.

Meanwhile, under Nigerian military regulations, serving soldiers are not permitted to provide private security services or take part in deployments without official approval.
