Ghanaian gospel musician Florence Obinim has opened up about how her relationship with socialite Afia Schwarzenegger transformed from public criticism to a genuine friendship.

Speaking in a recent interview, Florence revealed that she was initially surprised when Afia Schwarzenegger joined others in criticizing and insulting her on social media during a difficult period in her life.

According to Florence, she and Afia had never had any personal issues, explaining that the attacks were simply part of the culture on social media where people often comment on trending controversies.

“They said Afia hated me and kept asking what I had done to her for her to be insulting me, but we didn’t have any issues. I even asked her, ‘Was that really you or not? '" she quizzed.

She added, "I realized it’s all social media. When your issues come, everyone talks about you and insults you, and when they’re tired, they leave it.”

Despite feeling hurt by Afia's remarks, Florence said she understood that she often speaks impulsively in the heat of the moment and does not necessarily hold personal grudges against the people she comments on.

When asked if she had ever met the socialite, she recounted that she had only seen Afia once from a distance at a funeral many years ago.

“I really liked her when I saw her, but I also felt like I really wanted to beat her for insulting me on social media like that,” she said jokingly.

Florence disclosed that their relationship has taken a dramatic turn in recent times, revealing that Afia Schwarzenegger is her good friend now.

“Currently, she’s a very good friend of mine,” she added, highlighting how the two have moved beyond their social media differences.
