Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has revealed that he planned to publicly call for peace between his fans and those of fellow musician Stonebwoy by attending his recent concert and urging Ghanaians to support the show.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session, the "On God" hitmaker said he had intended to take the stage and encourage fans to stop fuelling the long-running rivalry between the two camps.

"Yesterday, it was my plan to tell people to stop fighting about Stonebwoy and me and go and support his show. I wanted to be on stage and say that. I needed to use this opportunity to clear things and make people feel comfortable," he said.

Shatta Wale lamented the constant comparisons between him and Stonebwoy, saying he does not view the music industry as a competition.

He cited Jamaican dancehall stars Mavado and Vybz Kartel as an example, noting that despite their rivalry, both continue to perform around the world and earn a living.

"Mavado and Vybz Kartel are performing all over the world and they're making money. But when you put our heads together and make it look like we are competing... I don't know competition in this thing that I am doing. I just know that I am doing music for the beautiful people who love Shatta Wale," he stated.

His comments come amid continued debates by fans and sections of the media who often pit the two award-winning dancehall artistes against each other.
