'I only worked on my smile lines' - Ola Daniels defends facial rejuvenation

Nollywood actress Ola Daniels has responded to criticism following her recent facial rejuvenation procedure.

She explained that she decided to undergo facial rejuvenation after losing a significant amount of weight, which she said left her with visible smile lines and loose skin on parts of her body.

Speaking in a video shared on her social media page, she narrated, "I went for face rejuvenation as a result of my weight loss journey. I lost so much weight and my smile lines became visible. I was chubby and I lost weight; my cheeks dropped, my arms dropped and I called a doctor friend. I love myself and I love to maintain beauty," she explained.

Addressing claims that she had completely changed her appearance, Ola Daniels maintained that only minor work was done on her face.

"If I didn't want you people to know about my face rejuvenation, I wouldn't have allowed them to post the pictures online. That's because nothing much was done. It was just a facelift; no surgical procedure, I didn't go under the knife," she stated.

According to her, maintaining one's beauty should not be viewed differently from other common beauty practices such as wearing makeup, fixing eyelashes, or shaving one's hair.

"The only fault I know I have is me not being perfect as you all are. You guys are perfect, and it's alright. Men, let me ask you a question; where is it written in the Bible that you should shave your hair when it's bushy? Women, where is it written in the Bible that we should fix lashes, weave-ons, and makeup just to look good? We do all these to maintain beauty," she said.

She also dismissed claims about her age, stating that she is in her early 40s and does not understand why some people have assigned a different age to her.

"I'm in my early 40s, so I didn't know where you guys got those figures from that you are forcing that age on me. I love the way I look, so let me be," she shared.

Ola Daniels further rejected assertions that she previously looked unattractive, insisting she has always been beautiful and only sought to reduce her smile lines.

"I didn't recreate a new look; it has always been my face. What I worked on was just smile lines. I heard some people saying I used to look ugly. Are you people okay? Haven't you seen my children? I just look a bit younger," she noted.

Despite the backlash, Ola Daniels added that she has no intention of stopping cosmetic enhancements if they help her maintain her appearance.

"I'm not sorry for my procedure, and I will still do it over and over again to maintain my beauty till my strength fails me," she added.
