Media personality and philanthropist Ayisha Modi has disclosed that she invested $15,000 in cash to help her former partner, highlife musician Ofori Amponsah, relaunch his music career after he returned from pastoral duties.

According to Ayisha, Ofori Amponsah approached her at a time when he was struggling financially and wanted to return to the music industry.

Speaking in an interview on Aluta FM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, Ayisha mentioned that Ofori Amponsah reminded her that she had been supporting other people while seemingly refusing to extend the same assistance to him, despite their past relationship and the fact that they have children together.

She said she subsequently informed musician Kontihene about Ofori's situation, but he advised her against investing in the project because Ofori allegedly owed her money and had not shown willingness to repay it.

“I gave Ofori Amponsah $15,000 in cash to start his album. At that time, he had just come back from his pastoral duties, so he didn't have money when he wanted to come back to the system. He was broke and he came to see me,” she said.

She continued, “He told me that I’ve been helping strangers, but I don’t want to help him despite the fact that he is my ex and we have children together. I then informed Kontihene about it, but he told me not to do it because Ofori was owing me some money and he wasn’t willing to pay.”

Ayisha, however, decided to support the project under an agreement that she would recover her investment from the proceeds generated by the album.

According to her, the agreement was that she would invest in the album and share the proceeds once the music began generating revenue.

“The agreement was that I would invest in the album and when the music generates money, then we share it,” she stated.

She noted that she was also supposed to receive a percentage from shows and other performances connected to the album.

Ayisha further claimed that Ofori's manager, Ashis, was aware of the arrangement and the money she had invested in the project.

“Again, any show that we will play concerning that album, I would have a percentage in it. Even his manager, Ashis, was aware,” she shared.

She disclosed that beyond the $15,000, she spent more than $2,000 on a photoshoot for the musician and said she still had receipts and other evidence of the expenditure.

“I paid $2,000+ for just his photoshoot at that time. I still have all the receipts and evidence. I gave that money to Ashis, so he knows about the album,” she said.

Despite the investment, Ayisha claimed that she did not receive any money from the project.

She further stated that after the album was completed, shows and other opportunities started coming in, but disagreements over performance fees reportedly became a challenge.

“After spending all this amount of money, I didn’t receive a dime from that project. He knows how much I invested in that album. After we were done with the project, shows and other events started coming, but the money they wanted to pay was not much,” she revealed.

According to Ayisha Modi, some of the amounts being offered were considered too low by Ofori Amponsah, who felt that his status in the industry warranted higher fees.

“Ofori felt like he was bigger than that amount they proposed. We had to sit down and discuss that he was away from the system for a while and he’s now back for us to promote him again, so he should consider taking some amount they’re offering,” she added.

“I gave Ofori Amponsah $15,000 in cash for his album after he returned to music from being a pastor, but he didn’t give me even a penny from the money he made, despite the promises he made to me.”
