Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has recounted what she described as an attempt on her life, claiming that 48 bullets were fired at her vehicle.

Speaking in an interview on Angel TV on July 28, 2026, Adwoa Safo attributed her survival to divine intervention, insisting that the attack was intended to kill her.

"If not for God, I wouldn't have been alive by now after what happened to me. Forty-eight bullets were fired at my car and not everyone can survive it, but I did. If it was a bullet or two, we would have said it was not intentional, but 48 bullets were targeted to kill me. They were asked to shoot to kill me," she alleged.

According to the former lawmaker, the attackers believed she would be seated in the back seat of the vehicle, where she normally sits when travelling with a driver.

"Because of the job we do, we normally sit at the back seat of our cars and the drivers will be driving you around. When they were shooting, their target was just at the back seat because they thought I would be there," she said.

Adwoa Safo disclosed that on the day of the incident, she was driving the vehicle herself because she was not accompanied by her usual security detail.

"Lucky for me, I was the one driving and on weekends, I don't walk around with my bodyguards and drivers. I was alone and I decided to go to my brother's house and have a conversation with him and find an amicable solution to what's going on," she stated.

She further claimed that she was dressed casually, wearing a cap instead of her usual wig, which she believes may have prevented the attackers from recognising her.

"I went there alone, unarmed and without protection. I had a cap on instead of wearing a wig, so maybe the people thought it was a man who was driving, but it was just me," she added.
