Some of Ghana's leading musicians are expected to perform in Barcelona, Spain, on August 2, 2026, at a concert marking the launch of the Highlife to the World (H2TW) – Black Star Experience 2027 campaign.

The event, scheduled to take place at SeaSeaClub from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., precedes the global rollout of the campaign in March 2027 as part of activities leading to Ghana's 70th Independence Anniversary celebrations.

The concert lineup includes Stonebwoy, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Obrafour, Bessa Simons and Jupitar, with additional performances expected from other artistes. Music will also be provided by DJs including DJ Logs, DJ Demo, DJ Enoch, DJ King Solo and Spain-based Nigerian DJ Enny.

The campaign follows UNESCO's decision in December 2025 to inscribe Ghana's Highlife music on its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Organisers say the initiative seeks to promote and preserve Highlife music and dance while increasing global awareness of the genre.

The Ghana Embassy in Madrid is organising the Barcelona launch, the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Showbiz Africa and the Black Star Experience.

Ghana's Ambassador to Spain, H.E. Kalsoume Sinare Baffour, is expected to host the Ghanaian delegation, which will include MUSIGA President Bessa Simons, Ghana Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Madam Maame Efua Houadjeto, Black Star Experience Coordinator Rex Omar, Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency Gideon Nee Aryeequaye, Chief Executive Officer of Showbiz Africa and Made in Ghana Consulting Ltd Verus Nartey, and Benayacon Entertainment CEO Eric Acquah.

Speaking ahead of the event, MUSIGA President Bessa Simons said Highlife has influenced several music genres over the years and remains an important part of Ghana's cultural identity.

The launch is being held in partnership with Benayacon Entertainment, the National Folklore Board, the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Creative Arts Agency, with support from the Spanish Embassy in Ghana and the UNESCO Office in Ghana.

The Highlife to the World (H2TW) – Black Star Experience 2027 campaign is expected to stage activities in several countries ahead of its official global rollout in 2027 as Ghana continues efforts to showcase Highlife on the international stage.
