Outspoken Ghanaian socialite Afia Schwarzenegger has questioned the Ghana Police Service over what she describes as the lack of updates on the criminal case involving social media personality SoAfrican, following his arrest earlier this year.
In a video shared on her Instagram page and sighted by GhanaWeb on July 18, 2026, Afia Schwarzenegger, while reacting to the jailing of social media user Camilla Alhassan, questioned why the police had remained silent on the prosecution of SoAfrican after publicly announcing his arrest.
According to her, the Ghana Police Service owes the public an update on the status of the case.

“Ghana Police, may God bless you for jailing Camilla Alhassan, but what happened to SoAfrican’s case? I’m referring to the guy who allegedly drugged women and slept with them. Since your press conference, we haven’t seen you take him to court.
“I hope you haven’t taken a bribe and allowed him to go scot-free? Have you sat on the case because he has money, while you are in a hurry to jail the poor?” she said.
Afia Schwarzenegger also called on the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, to provide Ghanaians with an update on the ongoing investigations.
She warned that she would not hesitate to draw international attention to the matter if the police failed to communicate the progress of the case.
“Lydia Donkor, we didn’t ask you to tell us about SoAfrican’s arrest. You held your own press conference. We will not keep quiet because if you take a bribe and make that case a joke, we will invite the international community and embarrass you,” she added.

Joshua Kojo Anane Boateng, popularly known as SoAfrican, was arrested on May 6, 2026, during a joint intelligence-led operation involving the CID Cybercrime Unit and the Bureau of National Investigations.

CID Director-General COP Lydia Yaako Donkor disclosed that preliminary investigations indicated the suspect operated a Telegram platform known as “VIP Sleep Fetish 2025.”
Police alleged that he used a drug identified as alprazolam (Xanax) to sedate unsuspecting women before allegedly sexually abusing them, recording the acts, and sharing the videos online without their consent.
According to the police, the investigation was triggered by a complaint received through INTERPOL Australia.
Authorities have said investigations remain ongoing as they work to identify additional victims and possible accomplices.
