Ghanaian rapper Kweku Smoke has credited his senior colleague, Sarkodie, with steering him away from a path that could have landed him in trouble with the law.

This development comes in the wake of the recent arrest and extradition of Ghanaian socialite Abu Trica and several others to the United States over allegations of cyber fraud and romance scams following FBI investigations.

Reacting to the news, Kweku Smoke shared a photo of Sarkodie alongside a link to their newly released collaboration, “Major League,” on X, with the caption:

“My lord. God bless you. If uno show me work, like by now FBI carry me,” he wrote.

The tweet quickly gained traction, with many social media users interpreting it as a heartfelt appreciation to Sarkodie for mentoring him and providing him with opportunities in music.

Others also viewed the statement as a subtle suggestion that the rapper may have once been involved in activities similar to those at the centre of the allegations against Abu Trica before pursuing music.

Many fans praised him for acknowledging Sarkodie’s influence on his career and personal growth.

The post has since fueled online discussions, with some commending the award-winning rapper for positively impacting the lives of younger artistes, while others have debated the deeper meaning behind Kwaku Smoke’s remarks.
